Wishing you the Bestest Sensational Luck & success, you are indeed lucky and successful no matter what they say, keep on smiling & rocking 🤘xo
Greetings Ken! You have always been one of my favorite guitarists and inspired my guitar playing as well. Still to this day the guitar solos on "sinner"(unleashed in the east), "devil's child", "bloodstone", and others of yours are some of my all time favorite solos. When I was a kid I would play them over and over with headphones memorizing every little detail. I just wanted to say "hello" and "thank you Sir" for all of the great music!! Wishing you the best. cheers!
We are coming from USA to see all of Britain very soon, including your Steel Mill. Can hardly wait!!!
Just finished Heavy Duty. Brilliant!! I feel so bad that you had to bury your concerns and feelings while in JP. It really spoke to me because we're alot alike. Here is am 54 years old and I still feel like I'm finding my voice in this life. The band played the venue that I do security management for and just wasn't the same without you. Best wishes in health and happiness sir. Thank you for your contribution to my youth and now older years. Cheers! Mark Storga California
Greetings Ken. I have been a long time Judas Priest fan since the late 70s. I just finished your book a week ago and I am now a bigger fan of you than the current Judas Priest which I feel is now a cover band to me. I was very impressed how humble you are and how dedicated you are to your fans.
Just finished your book and I enjoyed it immensely. Very easy to read and I appreciate the stories that you took the time to tell all your fans. Priest is and has been one of my favorite bands. Love you K.K.!
Hi Ken, just to say I am a 62 year old British heavy rock/metal fan since the mid-1970s onwards and naturally Judas Priest are amongst one of my favourite all time British heavy metal bands of all time but I only like and want to listen to all the 'classic' Judas Priest material that you played on. All the best for the future...
great book KK and you are missed thanks for all the great music
Just finished reading your book. Wow a journey and great insight to album's I grew up on. Always wanted to thank you for handing my son your guitar pick. Safe journeys. Houston Texas
Dear Ken - I just this moment finished your beautifully written Heavy Duty autobiography. What I come away with is a sense of what a gentleman and genuine person you are. Even when discussing negative situations or aspects of people, you did so with fairness and respect. The entire read was fascinating, not just from a Judas Priest standpoint, but also from a "getting to know KK" angle, which was more important. Some of the aspects you conveyed regarding your personal life resonated strongly with me, and I'm sure with many others. I'll buy you a pint any time, my friend.
Hi KK, and happy birthday! I miss you, and still love you! I hope I get to see you again someday. Love San
Happy 67th Birthday Ken Downing! Make it another memorable one to go with your already memorable life! Wishing you the best always. ❤
Dear Ken, I've been wanting to write to you for quite some time, but I'm not the best with words. Anyway, I've been a fan of Judas Priest for a few years now and can surely say it's my very favourite band. Think I've watched every video, seen every photo, read every interview...Judas Priest has changed my life in some ways and opened up new horizons, from dealing with personal problems to sexual exploration and everything in between (and I'm only 23). So far I've seen Priest only once (in 2015), it was great, but I've got to say I really missed seeing you on stage. I've never met you or seen you live, but judging by the videos I've seen, you have an outstanding stage persona. The charisma, the passion, the POWER you radiate is breaking me even just watching you on the computer screen. It's a fact - you all are great musicians (yes, I still consider you a part of the band), but Ken, you've always been my favourite. How I wish to go back in time to see you with Priest, but obviously that's the past and you've made your decision, which I understand and deeply respect. I just hope you haven't given up completely and there will still be a chance to see you on stage again! I know things haven't been easy for you lately, I've been following what you've been up to. I really hope you find the strength to deal with everything. I know you've got it, Ken! I've also been reading that you haven't had the chance to find the right woman and some of them have caused you troubles in the past.... you know, it kind of angers me the treatment you've got from some of them. I feel very passionately about you and would give a lot to get to know you. You deserve a good woman to treat you right, and as much as I'd love to do it, we don't know each other. I think I'm already seeing beyond the music - first you got me hooked by your stage personality, but I've also come to realise what a selfless and simple man you are. With the status you've got you could have acted like the centre of the universe, but you don't. You really care for the fans and people around you - it is so endearing to see. I believe you're one of the most down-to-earth musicians I've seen in my life. I hope I can meet you one day, you know, just a simple acknowledgement would mean the world to me. Ken, I am waiting impatiently for your book to arrive and can't wait to read about your life in greater detail. I wish the best for you in the future and hopefully see you soon. Sending lots of love! 🙂
just ordered the signed biography - endless support for KK
Ken, as a fan for many years of Judas Priest & you personally, I never thought I would be reading the issues I am reading about now with yourself & Judas Priest. I am sure you thought you would not be living your life now either, with all the losses you have experienced. All these life experiences shape us to who we are. No one should have gone through what you have gone through, as far as losing Astbury Hall, your beloved home & being forced to sell your rights to your Judas Priest songs. My heart breaks for you. But I wanted you to know that those are material things & they don't make the person you are. Please do not let these negative experiences jade your outlook on life. Sometimes individuals go through tough times because you are not done being shaped & formed to the person you are to become. Although I have not walked in your shoes nor lived your life, I have gone through my own struggles in life & my character has been formed because of them. I never had the financial status that you have, so I really do not know what that is like. I make enough money to pay my bills & that's about it. Not too much is left over to do anything else. AND that is okay because it means that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. The point I am making is that this is where you are supposed to be too at this moment in your life. Material things, like money & homes, are not everything. Having family that supports you and good friends you can rely on in life is really what matters. I am sorry too that you have not found the right woman that you could share your life with. Maybe you think it is too late; but I believe that you just haven't met the right woman yet. Not all of us are interested in men who have money or because they are famous. So please do not judge us as being all the same. We are not. The likelihood of you reading this probably slim to none, but I wanted to reach out to you in the hopes of letting you know that at least 1 of your fans is thinking about you & praying for you. Although I do not know you personally, I wanted to encourage you to keep moving forward, keep the faith and keep feeding the flames. Love you Ken❤
KK Happy Easter. Want you to have a Point Of Entry resurrection. Check out the YouTube link below and tell me what you think. All the best. http://tinyurl.com/poejudas Cheers and Top of the mornin.
Just wanted to say I've been a huge fan since the beginning of JP and KK has always been my favourite muscian. It was the unplugged version of Diamonds and Rust that got my 13yr old daughter started in guitar. Sadly, we lost her when she was 14 yrs old in 2012 from a heart transplant gone bad. I just wanted to let you know that you KK, had inspired my daughter. It was a great pleasure for her to play, and I thank you for that. We still have her first pink electric guitar. Dale.
I need somebody’s help with something on here I have a vinyl of British steel from Judas Priest and I would really like to get a hold of the band or their management so if anybody has an email or something that I can go off of that would be very helpful
Dear KK: I just returned to the Midwest after a long trip. When I arrived in Madison, WI, I went staightway to Strictly Discs and ordered your live CD, "Unleashed In The East." I understand what you mean about the "...stealth metal..." that Judas Priest is known for. In fact, I can hear the "stealth" of the guitars as only Judas Priest has played, both live & studio. I'm really sad you have left the group...but I will always have you in my ears...I don't think I'll make the Finland show...Love you...Rose Byrd
Happy B-day K.K.! I use to play in a metal band Iron Mistress,we did alot of J.P. electric eye hellion, desert plains, hot rockin, headin out, green man, ripper, hot rockin, another thing, breakin, living, and alot of SAXON too! we 2 guitars w/marsh. stacks,we were booked all over cny. and has some originals too.LOVE THE PRIEST FOR EVEA!
Happy Birthday Kenny!
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday. Love my Judas Priest!
Happy Happy Birthday my dear friend.
Sorry mate for being you. We want you back.
As a new fan, it's great to have this website to browse through. However, it would be great if KK blogged more! Although we understand that he is probably usually very busy, many of us really like hearing from him about what he's currently up to, whether it be in the form of a blog post or video. This is a great website, though, and I check it weekly.
Just wanted to say thanks for doing the "Toys in the Attic" video. I almost felt like I was hanging out at Astbury Hall with an old friend. Very cool for an long-time fan like me! 🙂
