Dreamsphere is an international modern\/pop metal band from Slovenia. Formed from youngest members of Condemnatio cristi<\/strong> and Noct<\/strong>iferia.\u00a0<\/strong>Dreamsphere released their epic debyt album “The Darkest Experience” in 2016 and are about to release a follow-up anytime soon. We catched up with the frontman Denis Mauko for a little chat.<\/span><\/h3>\n

When did you form Dreamsphere? What inspired you to make music together?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dreamsphere was formed in 2016. Idea for the band was given by manager of Condemnatio Cristi, our second band. If I’m totally honest, Dreamsphere was created for fun.<\/p>\n

Who are your biggest influences?<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a musician I am highly influenced by classical music and entire black metal tradition. On the other hand I am huge fan of film music, “ethnic” music and\u00a0 good melodic metal such as Nightwish or Wintersun.<\/p>\n

If we talk about influences that made impact on composing for Dreamsphere, we can talk about Sisters of Mercy, Chris Isaac, Serebro and melodic death metal in general.<\/p>\n

How is Dreamspehere songwriting process? Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I write all the songs and usually don’t have specific procedure.\u00a0 Sometimes I do synths first, sometimes guitars, sometimes I start from certain chorus or verse… Lyrics mostly talk about one’s total alienation from everyday’s life. We also talk about the insufficiency of historical spirit that reflects upon our realm and other meaningless thoughts that come to our insufficient mind… I don’t think topics will change but the lyrics are definitely getting darker…<\/p>\n

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We never really played music together before the first album. I made songs and then I finished arrangements with help of Dame Tomoski ( Noctiferia ), who later joined as guitarist.\u00a0 First album was more “cinematic” and orchestra based. Our upcoming product has still mark of Dreamsphere, but the sound is “lighter”. We used less distortion and more clean vocals, less orchestra and more “synth” oriented minimal ambience.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the craziest thing that\u2019s happened on tour or live gig?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most crazy things definetly hapenned in Russia, entire tour was huge adventure… broken car, 2 gigs on Halloween, one in Nizhny Tagil, another in Yekaterinburg, huge distances ( over 1000km from gig to gig ), crazy weather, broken car again in Moscow where we slept at some club for 7 days and experienced everything that city life has to offer…Other crazy things will not be recalled hehe…<\/p>\n

What is your favorite song to perform live?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No fear.<\/p>\n
