Hello Metal fans everywhere!
Well, it’s been another great month with loads of things happening. Many thanks to you all for checking in at the Mill and also for your correspondence and kind comments.
It goes without saying that without your enthusiasm and support it would not be plausible to even think about creating a site such as the Steel Mill.
I know that bands all over the world are eternally grateful to have such dedicated fans that travel so far and wide to give their support. I on behalf of Judas Priest would like to say thank you to you all for your dedication to the band during our years of existence.
I am sure that many of you will agree with me that one of the most treasured things to be gained by being a member of our great world metal army is the opportunity we have to meet new friends and associates – often from countries many miles away, either by e-mail or at venues etc. I for one am still in touch with several friends that I met at concerts long before I ever played in a band and of course over the years I have been fortunate to continue to make new acquaintances literally every day. This letter to you all is an integral part of the whole experience, music must surely be the most positive thing on the planet when it comes to uniting people from all cultures and religions. I consider myself most privileged to receive correspondence from so many countries and especially when I hear from fans that are not from the western world. It gives me great encouragement that the world can come together as one some day.
I can remember well being in Berlin when the wall started to come down. The atmosphere and the elation was indescribable and as a member of Judas Priest it was a feeling of such joy and relief that we could at long last walk through the Brandenburg Gate to meet and hug and shake hands with the metal fans that had been so deprived for so long. And the following year was even better when our trucks rolled through on their way to concerts we were about to play for the people all over east Germany. Since then of course the world has become even bigger for us to include Bulgaria, Slovakia, Russia, The Baltic states etc. although we still have a long way to go to cover all of the countries we will endeavour to see you all before the Priest hangs up his cross and that is a promise.
I can not go without once again saying thank you to you all and of course to my dedicated friends at the Steel Mill. Until next month bye for now, please keep feeding the flames!
Regards from
